The letters (all written on the mourning stationery of the Reform Club, London) discuss family news and Henry's sitting for a portrait sketch by John Singer Sargent--1912 Mar 15 (4 folded sheets, plus envelope), 1912 Mar 16 (2 folded sheets), 1912 Mar 28 (1 1/2 folded sheet) and 1912 Apr 1 (2 folded sheets, plus envelope). The Sargent portrait was commissioned by Edith Wharton. She was displeased with the result according to Henry, while he liked it.
